Andrew was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. In 1984, he began working at the shipyard in Newport News, where he is now an engineering planner. He became a member of the Church of Christ in 1988. Andrew and his wife, Carol, were married in 1989 and they have two children: a daughter, Elena, and a son, Joseph. Andrew has served as a deacon at the Portsmouth church of Christ and has experience in preaching and teaching adult Bible classes.
